How my brain thinks…

My preference for Analytical thinking suggests thought processes that are theoretical, rational, and skeptical. My Analytical brain is inquisitive and always want answers, so I’m likely to pursue topics until I am satisfied that I have the correct information. I prefer conclusions that are backed with data and research. On the other hand, my preference for Social thinking suggests thought processes that are concrete, relational, and empathic. I see the human side of events and ideas. My Social brain values personal intuition and unusual, and visionary. Some of my ideas may confuse people who do not share your preferences for Social and Conceptual thinking, but I use my Analytical preference to translate ideas into terms everyone understands.

With two thinking preferences, Social and Conceptual, using intuition, I sometimes base my decisions on a combination of advice from others and sheer inspiration. However, because I approach situations Analytically, I need research and data to solidify my decision making. Because I have tri-modal brain with three thinking preferences, it is easy for me to see things from different points of view, and it may take me awhile to make a decision.

How I behave…

My level of Expressiveness is in the “it depends” range. This means I decide how much energy I want to put into being calm and reserved or talkative and lively. My level of Assertiveness implies that I am generally direct and determined. My level of Flexibility means I am capable of being easygoing. My high percentages on Flexibility and Assertiveness is an interesting combination. People will quickly learn that although I can be affable and adaptable, I also can be powerful and forceful. When my mind is made up, or when I am interested in getting something accomplished, I can take charge. When I am in this mode and I add Expressiveness, my opinions are clear and my influence is strong.

As a leader, I can be quiet or animated, and I value theoretical thinking and personal relationships. When the unexpected occurs, I do not become flustered, but instead use my Flexibility to find another way that works. I have a vision that extends far into the future, and I expect others to share my enthusiasm for the overall concept or goal. With preferences in Analytical and Conceptual thought, I can be intimidating, as I am not afraid to ask tough questions. Mostly, I forge strong alliances, and excel at team building and mentoring. As a tri-modal thinker, I instinctively thread each of my preferences through one another; in this my ideas and interactions have elements of a variety of approaches.
